The Man Behind The Way
My name is Will Duvall. I am a war veteran who has spent many years living with the weight of PTSD. My journey toward wellness was never about finding a perfect life or pretending the past did not exist. It became about learning how to carry those experiences without allowing them to determine the direction of my life.
Long before DŌ existed, I was fascinated by Japanese culture and tradition. I found wisdom in its proverbs, stories, legends, and teachings—especially the idea of DŌ (道), “The Way.” The lesson that stayed with me was simple: there is no final destination where we suddenly become whole. There is only the path and how intentionally we choose to walk it.
Over time, that philosophy became deeply personal. Movement. Discipline. Reflection. Connection. Purpose. Caring for my body, mind, relationships, surroundings, and future. These practices became some of the most meaningful tools I found for living alongside PTSD.
DŌ: The Way grew from that experience.
I developed this philosophy not because I have mastered wellness, but because I am still walking the path myself. DŌ brings together the Eight Dimensions of Wellness with lessons that have shaped my own journey, creating a practical philosophy for becoming stronger, more balanced, and more intentional—one step at a time.
Now I want to share what I have learned with others.
You do not need to walk my path.
My hope is that DŌ helps you discover how to walk yours.
